Jessica Nebel, born and raised in Germany, graduated from the Royal College of Art in London with an MA in 2007 after completing her studies at the Braunschweig University of Art in Germany in 2005. Before her current work at Munich based design studio Pilotfish she worked for various design consultancies such as Frog Design in Stuttgart and Therefore in London. Her work got recognized by several awards (e.g. IF and Red Dot) and publications.

"With my designs I intend to make people think about their environment and about the way they interact with their surroundings everyday day. My concepts surprise by adding subtle hints which make them more useful or which make connections between activities that belong together but have not been thought as a design of one object before. A food packaging that becomes a birdhouse, a poster to display messages on or a sink to take away –
I am always on the strive to combine plain design with a new and unexpected twist."
